Aurora | The Creation of an Energetiks Collection

It all starts with a dream - which seems quite appropriate with the naming of this collection! Inspired by the delicate colours, texture and movement of flowers in summer, plus a sprinkle of the fantasy that’s Sleeping Beauty, Aurora evokes a sense of creativity with its enchanting floral beauty. The creation of a new collection at Energetiks requires months of pre planning and fine tuning before the finished product is made. As you browse through some of the beautiful shots of this collection, we hope to further inspire you by providing some insight into how a new collection is developed.

When it comes to a new collection the first thing that needs to be decided upon is the design. With Aurora the intention was to create something that encompassed the joy and romance of summer. Guided by trend forecasts that pinpointed tie dye and overlapping patterns, we knew that a floral print highlighted with colour features would tick all the boxes for what we were after. Enveloped within a combination of crisp white and soft pink hues, the black outlines of the magnolia flowers really invoke a sense of youthful feminine beauty, perfect for the younger dancer. To create this botanical collection, fabrics need to be selected once a print has been chosen. This collection features our signature ProForm Flex fabric with its four way stretch and compression technology to ensure form fitting, durable comfort. It also features our Tech Mesh throughout, enhancing breathability, making it perfect for the warmer months ahead.

Once the fabrics have been selected, the design of the garments is next. Aurora boasts five new leotard designs, all featuring decorative backs unique to this collection. It also features some of our favourite bottoms - the Astrid Brief, Kara Short and Bailey 7/8 Legging. Filtered throughout the collection are a range of versatile tops, including the new Sloane Crop Top and Brooklyn Cropped Sweater - designed to suit all sorts of weather conditions! For those who enjoy wearing a skirt with their leotard, there are two skirts within the collection that pair perfectly with the leotards, and to round it all off there’s a matching scrunchie too!

After the finalisation of fabrics, materials, and designs is complete, the collection is ready to be made. This involves cutting numerous patterns in multiple fabrics and sizes. Once they’ve been cut they are ready to be assembled and upon completion they are then sent to our thorough quality control team who ensure that only the highest quality products are sent to our customers. As soon as they have been approved this elegant floral collection is ready to be sent out. But before it is available to our customers, we create an exciting campaign (which involves a photoshoot like the one seen throughout this blog) that really highlights the new collection and the versatility of the pieces. As soon as this is complete we are then ready to share the beautiful collection with the world.
